The heart of my work is helping clients more meaningfully communicate their ideas, basic needs and desires in their daily lives.
For over 35 years, I've worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe strongly in a "whole person" approach to communication. I provide play-based and functionally-based therapy services in comfortable and familiar settings, such as your home, local parks, etc, to increase engagement and therapeutic gains.
In this unique time of pandemic social isolation, educational confusion, and stress, I am finding creative ways to reach each child, whatever it takes for them to feel safe and supported. I am available for Telepractice and limited in person, distance sessions.
I specialize in pediatric play-based therapy for children with auditory processing challenges, spectrum disorders, voice, articulation, phonology, and expressive/receptive language deficits.
I work with adults with aphasia, English-language learners, and adolescents with executive functioning challenges.
"Ellen has been working with my daughter and our family for almost a year. Before she came into our lives, I was in despair and so worried about my daughter's lagging social skills and behavior challenges. It was impacting our whole family. Ellen assured me she would put her heart and soul into helping my daughter and our family. And she delivered. Today, my daughter has meaningful friendships at school, participates in different play themes and expresses her emotions in productive ways. And I am a much more confident parent. Ellen is creative, intuitive, playful, and patient in her approach to children. We are grateful for the work she has done for us."
